”... Bill Berens’ rookie stint in the state house received mostly positive reviews. Some details along the way, however, include a misguided suggestion to raise the state gas tax by 27 cents per gallon. Then there was his politically naïve refusal to donate a $20,000 hole-in-one prize from the Colorado Oil and Gas Association to charity. Yes, the prize was legit, but a five-figure check from “Big Oil” to a state legislator is ethically murky, to say the least. Dianne Primavera promises to concentrate on education and health care. Thank Berens for his service, but give Primavera a chance.”
